A little Delray Beach history…
iYoga Delray Beach, formerly known as Yoga Sol, has been an established Iyengar yoga studio, in Delray Beach since 2001.
Our senior teacher, Colleen Gallagher was the first Iyengar instructor in Palm Beach County and has mentored numerous teachers in the process of becoming certified Iyengar yoga instructors in Florida and throughout the country.
Iyengar Yoga is based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, yoga master and the author of the classic yoga treatise, “Light on Yoga”. His dedicated personal practice and over 65 years of teaching have produced significant innovations in the teaching of yoga. These innovations have now become established and known as Iyengar Yoga.
On August 20, 2014, a New York Times article credited him with bringing yoga to the western world and making it accessible to every age and walk of life.
